West Bengal State Agricultural Marketing Board [WBSAMB], a Statutory body under Agricultural Marketing Department, Government of West Bengal, has been constituted in terms of provision of sub section 1 of Section 36 of the West Bengal Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1972. As per provisions of sub section 1 of Section 36(c) of the aforesaid Act, the principal activities of the Board is superintendence and monitoring of the activities of the different RMCs / Zilla RMCs of the state. In addition, prior function of this Board is creation of infrastructures like Market Link Roads, Godowns, Shops, Stalls, Water facilities, electrifications etc. for the interest of the farm communities as well as other market functionaries so that the farmers can achieve better remunerative price against selling of their crops. Simultaneously, buyers can get acceptable good agricultural commodity against suitable price.

West Bengal State Agricultural Marketing Board provide assistance to the RMCs of the State for creation of better marketing infrastructure under various schematic and other funds. West Bengal State Agricultural Marketing Board has been performing construction/ repair works relating to development works being entrusted by Govt. Department as implementing agency for executing such type of works as well as Providing several training programme at NSTIAM, which is a training Institute running under the supervision of West Bengal State Agricultural Marketing Board. The Institute conduct the following training in every year on regular basis:
Krishak Bazar are created by WBSAMB for providence of better marketing infrastructure as well as modernized marketing facilities to the farmers and other market functionaries. Till date 186 Krishak Bazars have been constructed at different blocks of this state. !
e-NAM is a pan-India electronic trading portal that networks the existing APMCs / RMCs to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities. This online platform reduces hindrance of free trading of the agri-commodities within different market areas!
e-Permit is a single integrated online platform which caters to licensing, renewals, payment of market fees, generation of permits and submissions of returns. The e-Permits generated through the platform would ensure hassle free movement of goods across the state of WB!
